In October 2010 my husband, Hugh and I purchased Millawa Ranch in Mount Kilcoy, Queensland. Our previous property was a 10 acre block in Upper Coomera, within walking distance of Dream World, from there to our dream home in Mount Kilcoy valley. The 365 acres includes creek flats, 800 metres of frontage to Kilcoy Creek and 2 kilometers of lovely paddocks, a couple of valleys and a bit of God's country all rising to forested hills above us.

      In June 2015 it time to prune in preparation for next years harvest. Last year after being devastated by hail in November 2014 our 2015 harvest has had a few setbacks and we really hope that this year will be our best production ever.We have learned each year about the pruning, and each year have had healthier and stonger vines with more grapes on them. It is big couple of weeks cutting the canes,setting up next years cuttings and cleaning up all the sticks.  We cut the canes and put an anti bacterial paste on the cuts to stop disease and bugs damaging the lovely vines. 2017 Grape Harvest

Once again we have delivered our grapes up to Oceanview Estates Winery at Mount Mee, there, over the next year, the winemaker Thomas Honnef will transform our humble Shiraz grape into the 2017 vintage of Millawa Ranch's Mountain View Winery's, "Painted Horse Shiraz" . Each year is so unique, mainly due to weather patterns. Our crop this year was about half the amount of last year, 1.5 tonnes.... But the flavour and sweetness were delectable. We had quite a high percentage of grapes that had started to dry and tasted a bit like a sultana. We hope that this will give us a unique and rich vintage of Shiraz.
